MCD to rope in Delhi cricketers to promote civic sense drive

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: After launching a civic sense awareness campaign to stop people from littering, spitting or urinating at public places, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is now planning to rope in Delhi cricketers Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma for a multi-media campaign.

The campaign would drive home the message of a “clean and green” Delhi ahead of the Commonwealth Games in October this year.

MCD Leader of House Subhash Arya had also mentioned the proposal to involve cricketers in such a programme during his 2010-11 Budget speech earlier this week. Apart from advertisements in newspapers, the civic body would also be putting up hoardings to run audio-visual campaigns, Mr. Arya said.
