HYDERABAD: The third ordinary meeting of the GHMC council on Friday will consider among other issues approving a project proposed to make an inventory of the roads under its jurisdiction to cater to future traffic demands for at least a-decade-and-a-half.

The Rs. 7.95 crore project is being planned to study all the existing roads conditions to come up with a uniform and durable network requiring minimum maintenance.

The study will help engineers to decide if roads need complete excavation, micro-carpeting or turning them into cement-concrete layers.

Tenders will be called after obtaining the government approval to choose a consultant to take up the project, said a senior official.

The meeting will also look into approving the 30 per cent share of Rs. 2.28 crore towards taking up the comprehensive transport study for the metropolitan region being taken up by HMDA.

Sanction will also be sought for payment of Rs.9.14 crore to SCR for widening the road over bridge at Lakidikapul.
