Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions to construct and repair roads in municipality corporation limits. He was holding discussions with concerning officers at Mantralay here last night.
Principal Secretary Urban Administration and Development SPS Parihar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Khandekar, Secretary Anurag Jain and Additional Secretary Ajatshatru were present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that municipal corporations and public works department should give priority to repairing of roads in urban areas. It would be considered to provide requisite budget for construction and repairing of urban roads.
Chouhan gave instructions for holding meeting for reviewing development projects in municipal corporation areas. He said that he would himself review development works.
The Chief Minister asked the officers concerned to include repair and construction of roads in urban development plans and compulsorily include drinking water supply schemes. He said that development works in urban areas should be according to city development plans in order to ensure planned development.
The Chief Minster stressed the need for developing public recreational centres at all district headquarters. These centres should come up at the place where families can easily approach.
