Bangalore: The various civic agencies, including Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., have been directed to ensure that the condition of the roads along Reach 1 of Namma Metro is restored.

A. Ravindra, Adviser to Chief Minister on Urban Affairs, and BBMP Commissioner Siddaiah, during his inspection on Friday along Reach 1, directed BWSSB officials to plug leakages along CMH Road, Ulsoor Road and S.V. Road and instructed the BBMP and BMRCL officials to asphalt the roads, besides relaying the footpaths.

“The condition of footpaths and roads near the station and CMH Road needs immediate attention. The civic agencies have been directed to complete repair works before the Namma Metro is commissioned,” he said.

He also said that the traffic on Old Madras Road would reduce once the metro is commissioned.

Pothole-free zones

Meanwhile, many wards in BBMP's South Zone have been declared as pothole-free zones. At a review meeting on Friday, Mr. Siddaiah said that ward numbers 182, 161, 183, 169, 178, 128, 126, 162, 172 and 176 have been covered in the pothole-filling drive.

He said that the drive to fill the potholes was being taken up across all wards in the south zone. Public may call 9880201881 to register their complaints about potholes. The meeting also discussed solid waste management in the zone.
