Repair potholes in a week, Nashik Municipal Corporation told

NASHIK: Chairperson of the Nashik Road divisional committee of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) SunitaKothule on Thursday directed the civic administration to repair potholes on the roads across the Nashik Road division within a week.

Corporator Shobhana Shinde said, "The condition of the roads in prabhag no. 35 has deteriorated and it will become worse if road repair works are not carried out before the rainy season begins."

Various civic work proposals worth Rs 35.26 lakh were passed at the meeting of the Nashik Road divisional committee. The works included carrying flooring works worth Rs 1.98 lakh at the community hall in Lokmanyanagar in prabhag no. 56, concretisation of road from the road towards Rokdobawadi bridge in prabhag no. 61 at the cost of Rs 1.98 lakh, macadamisation of the road in front of Nageshwar temple in prabhag no. 33 at a cost of Rs 1.97 lakh, widening and macadamisation of the road in front of Vishvanath Apartment in Shrikrishnanagar in prabhag no. 33 and setting up of windows in the female surgical ward passage in Bytco hospital at a cost of Rs1.99 lakh, among others.

The issue of defunct streetlights in some prabhags of the division was also discussed at the meeting. The chairpersons instructed the officials concerend to look into the matter.

In the meeting of the Nashik West division committee of the NMC, chairperson Arvind Shelke directed the health and sanitary officials to take care of the complaints in ward no. 13. He also asked officials to identify and trim trees along the roads in ward no. 13 and 25 by Monday in view of the approaching monsoon.
