Nashik Municipal Corporation to concretize 11 roads in Nashik soon

NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has undertaken concretization of 11 selected roads in the city witnessing heavy traffic with an aim to reduce maintenance works and avoid inconvenience to the citizens during monsoon.

Accordingly, the civic administration has already floated tenders worth Rs 5.24 crore. The last date of submitting the tenders is October 10.

The road from Raviwar Karanja to Red Cross Signal (Mahabal chowk) in ward no. 13 of Nashik West division is to be concretized at a cost of Rs 1.82 crore. Similarly, the roads in Ramabai Ambedkarnagar and Phulenagar in ward no. 58 in Nashik Road division will be concretized by spending Rs 91.58 lakh, followed by roads in LIC society in ward no. 31 in Nashik East division (Rs 42.66 lakh), the main road from Isam Raza Chowk to Kazipura police post in Kokanipura in ward no. 26 in Nashik East division (Rs 42.5 lakh) and the road from Gumshahbaba Darga-Nanavali Police post to Tractor House in ward no. 29 (Rs 39.63 lakh).

The other roads, which will be concretized, include Ganjawal Lane to Bivalkar Lane in ward no. 13 in Nashik West division (Rs 29.30 lakh), the road from Raigarh chowk to municipal school in ward no. 47 in Cidco division (Rs 25.31 lakh), roads in Sinnar Phata Vishnunagar in ward no 57 in Nashik Road division (Rs 23.43 lakh), the road from Rehanuma School to Zarekari Kot NMC school in ward no. 26 (Rs 16.13 lakh), roads in Moti Chowk and Kalbhairav Chowk in ward no. 47 in Cidco division (Rs 16.72 lakh) and the road behind Sahil Lawns in ward no. 39 in Nashik East division (Rs 15.46 lakh).

Speaking to TOI, an official from NMC said, "The cost of concretizing the roads is higher than tarring. Hence, we have decided to concretize only selected roads, including the ones with heavy traffic and some colony roads."
