BDA, OSHB to construct three residential projects

In a high-level committee meeting held on Wednesday presided by Chief Secretary Bijaya Kumar Patnaik decided to undertake constructing of three new residential projects in the city on the PPP mode.

It has been decided that Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) will construct two projects in Gadakana and Paikrapur and the Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) will construct one project in Suanga near Sijua.

The revenue department will provide 25 acres of land to BDA in Gadakana. About 3,000 residential houses will be constructed there. About `300 crores will be invested for the purpose.

About 600 residential houses will be constructed at a cost of `150 crore in Suanga. In all the projects 70 per cent will be residential accommodation and 30 per cent commercial property. In total about 4,200 residential houses will be constructed in an expenditure of `600 crore. Out of which 10 per cent will be reserved for low income group and 10 per cent will be reserved for middle income group.

For the lower income group one bed room, for middle income group two bedrooms and for the higher income groups three bedrooms will be available.

The LIG houses cost has been fixed at `10 lakh, MIG `10 to `12 lakh and for HIG `20 lakh. Besides, for the LIG groups flats will be available at `5 lakh.
