VARANASI: The holy city struggling to get rid of the problems of solid waste management might soon get some relief as the segregation process of the garbage has started at Solid Waste Management (SWM) plant at Kadsada.

According to project manager, SWM plant, GH Mitra, the segregation process started from Sunday onwards. "We are presently segregating 15 to 17 tonnes of garbage. Although we can segregate more garbage up to the limit of over 500 tonnes but presently the garbage from the Bhelupur ward is being undertaken for processing. In coming four to five days, the plant will take garbage which is dumped at different places by Varanasi Municipal Corporation (VMC)," he informed.
