Streamline tax collection system: BBMP Commissioner

To streamline the tax collection system, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner Siddaiah has instructed the officials from the Health and the Revenue Department to update details of trade licenses and property taxes online at a meeting here recently.
He directed the officials to ensure that the details pertaining to trade licence and property taxes be kept ready online by December 1. He told the officials that people can pay taxes at any of the BBMP centres by feeding information in the website. It will also avoid confusion.
This would encourage people to renew their trade licenses and pay their property taxes as there would be availability of information besides the choice of paying it closer to their homes or work places.
The Palike has already undertaken survey of properties and commercial establishments to increase its revenue.
