MCD’s three-day meet on commercial building tax ends

PNS | Dehradun

The three-day meet of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) working committee concluded on Wednesday in which 57 cases of commercial building tax calculation were processed by the committee members.

The concluding day of the working committee meet experienced stormy scenes when Dehradun Mayor Vinod Chamoli walked out of the meeting following a heated argument with a councillor regarding the calculation of commercial tax on a building.

However, the Mayor returned and the meeting resumed after working committee members appealed to the Mayor to attend to the issues to be deal with in the meet.

Earlier, Chamoli told the committee members that they should handle each case without bias and not act favourably to someone just because they know the party involved.

The majority of the 57 cases processed by the working committee were of shops at Rajpur Road, Chakrata Road, Kishan Nagar, Astley hall among those in other localities of the town.
