Sole reviews property tax collection
NAGPUR: Though the Nagpur
Municipal Corporation's property tax department has already surpassed
last year's target, performance of three zones - Ashi Nagar,
Satranjipura and Hanuman Nagar - is much below expectations.
This was revealed during a review meeting convened by mayor Anil Sole on Monday. "So far, the property tax collection by Ashi Nagar zone is 33.29%, Satranjipura 43.85% and Hanuman Nagar 59.89% against their targets. Gandhibagh zone topped with 74.14% collection," officials of the department informed the mayor.
Later, Sole directed the assistant municipal commissioners of all the 10 zones to accelerate their tax recovery drives as the current fiscal is nearing end. The mayor urged them to clear the pendency of mutations in their respective zones and hold camps to dispose of cases.
