Nashik Municipal Corporation: Five co-opted members appointed

NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Thursday announced the appointments of five co-opted members.

The members were co-opted according to the strength of the party in the House.Among the five members co-opted, Haribhau Lonari and Sandeep Lenkar are from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Shiv Sena leader Manik Sonawane, Sachin Mahajan from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Akash Chhajed from the Congress Party.

The city mayor Yatin Wagh formally announced these appointments.The party group leaders in NMC had submitted the names of their respective candidates to the municipal commissioner Sanjay Khandare on July 25, which were afterwards submitted to the city mayor Yatin Wagh.

Accordingly, the appointments of the co-opted members were cleared on Thursday at the General Body meeting.

Additionally, nine members for the Women and Child Welfare Committee were also announced by Wagh at the general body meeting on Thursday, including three members from MNS, two each from Shiv Sena and NCP, and one each from BJP and Congress party.

Usha Shelke, Shobhana Shinde, and Meena Malode from MNS, Lalita Bhalerao and Manish Dhekare from Shiv Sena, Ranjana Pawar and Nilima Amale from NCP, Savita Dalwani from BJP and Vaishali Bhagawat from Congress party were appointed. as the members of the Women and Child Welfare Committee of NMC.
