PMC polls: 7 candidates file papers
PONDA: With seven candidates filing their nominations for the Ponda municipal council (PMC) election, the poll preview has witnessed a poor response in the first three days.
Although the six wards, including three for women in the general category, two for OBC women and one ward for general OBC candidates have been reserved, just one application for an OBC woman's ward has been received until Saturday.
On Thursday, the returning officer received two nominations for ward number 9. It was followed by another two nominations on Friday; one for ward No. 13 and Ward No. 14 respectively, while on Saturday, three nominations have been filed for ward Nos. 1, 6 and 7. Candidates so far are Prashila Naik (ward 1), William Aguiar (ward 6), Tukaram Naik (ward 7), Nilesh Pai and Uddesh Naik (ward 9), and Yashwant Khedekar (ward 13) and Manjita Mamlekar ward 14.
