CREDAI organises blood donation camp

GVMC Commissioner stresses need for list ofdonors to help the needy people.

Listing out donors of blood will help those in need of blood and come handy in times of crisis saving lives, Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana has said.

Inaugurating a blood donation camp organised by the Visakhapatnam chapter of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) at Seetammadhara on Sunday, he said everyone should take up donating blood as a social responsibility.

Mr. Satyanarayana suggested as in Hyderabad a list of voluntary blood donors should be prepared to help save lives in the nick of time.

He lauded the decision of CREDAI to provide books to students of municipal schools.

He wanted it to come forward to hold medical tests to students of municipal schools.

The blood donation camp was conducted in association with Red Cross Blood Bank.

CREDAI Andhra Pradesh chapter vice-president K. Subba Raju said assistance had been extended to the cobalt therapy unit of KGH, toilets constructed in the school for the hearing impaired. Cash incentives and certificates are given to meritorious Civil and Architecture students, he said.

Paediatrician and Red Cross Society district secretary K. Venugopal said the blood bank modernised with a cost of Rs.2.5 crore would soon be inaugurated by the Governor.

He also sought CREDAI to play a role in the development of KGH paediatric ward.

Over 100 people donated blood at the camp.

CREDAI Chairman B. Raja Srinivas, president K. Ramakrishna Rao, honorary secretary P. Koteswara Rao and joint secretary Sai Raju and Dr. Jagannadha Rao participated.
