Lakshminarayana is new Bangalore civic body commissioner

BANGALORE: M Lakshminarayana was appointed the new commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Thursday. He replaced Siddaiah, who had taken charge just about seven months ago.

The posting comes in the wake of the growing cases of dengue in Bangalore. It will be a challenge for Lakshminarayana over the next few months as the dengue cases are likely to shoot up as rains are due in June and July.

Meanwhile, P N Sreenivasachary has been posted as the principal secretary of Urban development departmnent.
