A corporate cycling event, The Freedom Ride-2013, was held at Gachibowli Stadium on Thursday.

The event, which entailed a cycle ride of 66 kilometres for seasoned riders and 2 kilometres for amateur cycling enthusiasts, was organised by The Atlanta Foundation in association with industry forums including NASSCOM, ITsAP, FICCI, TiE and AMCHAM.

APIndustrial Infrastructure Corporation MD Jayesh Ranjan, who inaugurated the Freedom Ride, said the APIIC was working closely with the GHMC, Cyberabad police, TAF and Hyderabad Bicycling Club to set up a 30-km cycling track in the area to encourage cycling.

The event was aimed at raising awareness and funds to educate primary schoolchildren at Anjaiah Nagar, Siddique Nagar, Gachibowli and CNN Tanda Primary School.
