Have no magic wand but would serve the city sincerely : Rahul Tiwari, new MC commissioner

LUDHIANA: Rahul Tiwari who is all set to take his charge as commissioner Ludhiana Municipal Corporation says that what ever work has been started by the outgoing commissioner Rakesh Verma would be taken to its logical end by him and that he would follow the excellent road map of Ludhiana's development that has been so adeptly prepared by Verma.

"My priority would be to be available to the people for offering an immediate solution for their grievances. I will be available 24x7 to the residents of the city and apart from this one of the major focuses would be on resource generation and infrastructural development," said Tiwari.

He, however, made it aptly clear that he had no magic wand and that the infrastructural development which involves the completion of the projects and starting of the new projects like the multi level parking at various places in the city and other required construction work, would take time.

He agreed that the posting as MC commissioner was a challenging job and that a very good work was done by his predecessor who was a very efficient officer. "All the innovative methods that were started by Rakesh Verma would be used and the online projects that he started would also be run with all dexterity to achieve the desired goals," said Rahul.

Anyhow he said that the other problems related to traffic, enhancing the green cover in the city, proper management of garbage and stray dog menace would all be on his priority list but he again reiterated that these things would take time but would be resolved anyhow.

"Having worked in the city for a long time now I am well aware of the problems being faced by the residents and thus I will try to deal these problems with the cooperation of the people and in a better coordination with the other government departments," added Tiwari.
