Civic body to hold football tournamentfor peace

NERUL: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will organize a football tournament called Football For Peace 2013 for city schools at Yashwantrao Chavan grounds in Nerul on October 1-2.The competition will be telecast on the web. The matches will be held in a 30-minute format and there will be a play-off round followed by quarter-final, semi-final and a final. For the first time in the history of Navi Mumbai, a soccer tournament NMMC -Football for Peace 2013 is being organized for city schools at Yashwantrao Chavan grounds in Nerul on October 1-2.The match would be telecast live on the web and around 32 schools will be participating. The tournament will be held in a 30-minute format and there will be a play-off round followed by quarter-final, semi final and finals. The programme would start off with the inauguration ceremony and the tournament followed by musical show and prize distribution ceremony.
