KMC collects revenue worth Rs 18 lakh at redressal camp

KANPUR: A sum of Rs 18 lakhs as water and house tax was collected by the Kanpur Municipal Corporation during the Public Grievance Redressal camp held at Ward 43 of zone 4 on Thursday.

The camp was inaugurated by the mayor Jagatveer Singh Drona. KS Awasthi, additional municipal commissioner, Rajeev Shukla zonal officer heard the complaints of local residents regarding revenue, engineering, road light, health , water and sanitation during the camp. The additional commissioner asked the officials to pay special attention in cleaning of drains and lifting of garbage . Before the camp the chief guest Jagatveer Singh Drona garlanded the statue of Naresh Chandra Chaturvedi. An anti encroachment campaign was also launched in the area on this occasion. Students of Kumari Udyan College complained about potholed roads of Ashok Nagar and Jawahar Nagar.

The zonal officer asked the engineering department to repair the potholed roads.

As many as 28 complaints were received at the camp and 17 out of them were disposed off at the spot. Eleven complaints are pending.
