Reservation of municipal wards

District Collector V.Sheshadri on Sunday evening declared the reservation of wards in Narsipatnam municipal council.

The declaration for ST/SC/BC and women supersedes all the previous notifications and in exercise of power vested in him as the Collector and District Magistrate under Section 10 of Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act 1965.

According to the notification, of the total of 27 wards, Ward no.19 is reserved for ST (general); Ward 3 is for SC (women) and 11 and 16 are for SC (general); Ward 2, 18, 23 and 25 are reserved for BC (women), 7, 13, 14, 17 and 26 are earmarked for BC (general); Wards 1,4, 5,6,8,10,22 and 27 are reserved Women (general) and 9,12,15,20,21 and 24 are unreserved.

Krishna district Collector Buddha Prakash M Jyothi has released the list of wards and its reservation status for the coming elections in the seven municipalities in Krishna district. The list also includes the reservation for women and unreserved wards.

Unreserved wards

According to Mr. Buddha Prakash, the elections will be conducted in the seven municipalities in Krishna District – Machilipatnam, Gudivada, Nuzvidu, Jaggaiahpeta, Pedana, Tiruvuru and Vuyyuru.

However, the dates of the elections are to be announced.

Out of total 208 wards in the seven municipalities, as many as 44 wards have not been reserved for any category or caste.

In district headquarters Machilipatnam, totally 11 among 42 wards have not been reserved for anyone.

In Machilipatnam, 11 out of 42 wards have not been reserved.

NDMC gets new chairperson

Jalaj Srivastava has been appointed as the chairperson of New Delhi Municipal Council. The former Trade and Taxes department commissioner was transferred to Andaman and Nicobar in 2011. Srivastava's appointment order came on July 25. An AGMU-cadre IAS officer from the 1984 batch, the 52-year-old chairman met with former chairperson Archana Arora and other department heads on Friday.
