‘CMC committed to beautifying Madikeri'

Road from fish market yard to Ranipet area inaugurated


Madikeri: The Madikeri City Municipal Council (CMC) was committed to beautifying Madikeri city, its president P.D. Ponnappa said here on Monday. Concreting and asphalting of roads, as well as related work, were in full swing, he added.

Mr. Ponnappa was speaking to presspersons at the inauguration of a 40-m-long, 10-m-wide concrete road from the fish market yard to Ranipet area. The road was re-laid at a cost of Rs. 6.75 lakh, with funds received from the Chief Minister's Small and Medium Town Development Project scheme.

Mr. Ponnappa said that asphalting between the concrete road and Ranipet would start in two days. The work would involve Rs. 10 lakh, he said. Concreting the stretch from the private bus stand to Ram Mandir Road would begin in a few days, he said.
