What civic body has in store for Bengaluru

* Horticulture: New parks will be developed and old parks will see better upkeep, all at a cost of Rs 159 crore.

* Culture and sports: Basavanagudi is slated to get a Rs 3 crore swimming pools and five other pools will be built in the city at a cost of Rs 8.50 crore. The Kittur Rani Stadium has been allotted Rs 3.50 crore for a facelift. Mayor cup has been instituted for Kabaddi and volley ball games.

* Education: Faculty will receive special training, extra classes will be held for students. CBSE syllabus to be introduced in association with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

* Dr B.R. Ambedkar Housing Project: Houses will be constructed under the JNNURM scheme for slumdwellers

* IT innovations: BBMP plans to do online registration of deaths and births and introduce an automated building plan approval system.

* Shopping complexes: The Malleswaram and Jayanagar shopping complexes will be renovated and commercial complexes with parking facility will come up at Gandhi Bazaar and Johnson Market.

* Bus stations: The Kalisipalyam bus station is in for a new look at a cost of Rs 226 crore.

* Health: Health insurance scheme to poura karmikas, SC/ST communities, auto drivers and people living below poverty line.

*Welfare: Issuing electricity operated sewing machine and Rs 10 crore allocated for the welfare of physically challenged.
