BMC submits development plans to Rane

The Bicholim municipal council (BMC) on Monday submitted a new development plan of Bicholim town to health minister Vishwajit Rane, to be taken up with the government for implementation. A delegation comprising BMC chairperson Anisha Vernekar, deputy chairperson Shashikant Naik, councillor Kamlesh Teli, Karuna Govekar, Kamlakar Teli, Riyaz Beig and Bicholim block Congress committee president Naresh Sawal called on the Valpoi MLA.

The plan includes beautification of Bicholim city, hot mixing and asphalting of internal roads and beautification at open places. Sawal said that Rs 3.74 crore will be incurred on beautification of the area surrounding Shivaji maidan and areas like Sonar Peth and Atil Peth. Sawal also said the work of a parallel bridge and a hospital will be also completed soon.
