New sectors for Panchkula to de-congest city: HUDA

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has informed Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda that it will be developing new Sectors of 27, 28 and 30 in Pinjore-Kalka urban Complex, in Panchkula district, to de-congest the city.

HUDA has also allocated a budget of Rs 145 crore for development and maintenance of Panchkula circle for the year 2013-14.

Some of the major works that are being undertaken during 2013-14 include 12.5 MLD capacity water treatment plant at sector-1 MDC, Panchkula, water treatment plant at Sector-32, the development Panchkula extension, recirculation of tertiary treated water from sewerage treatment plant (STP) at sector-20, Panchkula to green belts and parks of Panchkula. In order to arrest the depleting ground water level,

HUDA has also laid down 10 km line for bringing water from Kaushalaya Dam to Panchkula and the construction of 45 MLD capacity treatment plant is also in progress. To augment the water of Panchkula town, the project for carriage of raw water from Kajauli water works of sector-39 chandigarh water works to Panchkula has also been undertaken. The laying of pipe line from Sector-39 chandigarh water works to Panchkula is in progress and about 70 per cent work has been completed. HUDA has incurred expenditure amounting to Rs. 199.83 crore from April 1999 to March 2005 and Rs. 623.71 crore for the period March 2005 to March 2013 on development works in Panchkula.
