Nod for project to build roads, flyovers
The Cabinet on Wednesday gave nod to an ambitious project to develop 22 new roads/flyovers in various parts of the state. Flyovers will be built at Palarivattom, Vytilla and Kundanoor on the Edapally-Aroor stretch of the National Highway and at Kalamaserry Apollo junction, as part of the project.
The Cabinet also sanctioned Rs 5 crore to the Horticulture Department for intervening in the open market to contain the rise in prices of essential commodities. Fourteen ITI projects have been earmarked for private partnership and 87 posts have been created for this purpose.
Posts of three professors, four associate professors and 15 assistant professors have been approved for the Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University. Pay of employees serving in the Kerala Urban Development Finance Corporation will be revised. For the Adyanpara small-scale hydro electric project,1.6 hectares of land in Chaliyar panchayat in Nilambur taluk will be handed over to the KSEB .
The new roads listed are the four-laning of Kazhakoottam-Kesavadasapuram road, bypass roads for Kollam, Alappuzha and Kozhikode, renovation of Kanjikuzhy-Vettathukavaka-Karukachal road, Chozhiyakode-Paruthumpara-FCI Pakkil-Mulakkuzha- Tiruvathukkal-Illikkal road,outer ring roads in Pathanamthitta, Mannuthy-Amalanagar bypass road, renovation of Thrissur-Kuttipuram road, Thodupuzha-Kaliyar-Vannapuram-Chelachuvadu-Idukki parallel road, Sulthanpetta-Palakkad town, Manjeri ring road, four-laning of Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu road, Thalassery-Mahe-Valapattanam bypass, alternate path to Thamarassery ghat road, Chowki-Vidyanagar bypass, Edappal flyover, development of Pala river view road and the ambitious hill highway from Nandarapadavu to Kadukkara (Thiruvananthapuram).
