10 lakes of State Capital to be beautified: UAD Minister

The Urban Administration and Development (UAD) Minister Babulal Gaur said that the 10 lakes of the State capital would be beautified and conserved in a better way.

He was addressing the officials at Directorate of Urban Administration here on Thursday. During the meeting, the UAD Minister gave certain directions to the officials concerned. Gaur instructed them to buy a de-weeding machine to maintain cleanliness in the lakes. Further, the Urban Administration Department would buy the machine with the total expenditure of `3 crore. Besides, the park located near the lakes would be beautified and made attractive with the expenditure of `2 crore.

Gaur instructed the officials to finish the beautification and maintenance work of the lakes properly and within the given time. During the meeting, Secretary, Urban Administration SN Mishra, Commissioner Sanjay Shukla, collector Nishant Varvade and Mayor Krishna Gaur were present along with the official of different departments of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Gaur further instructed the BMC officials to buy an advanced machine for controlling the fire. He assured to provide `4.45 crore for the machine. He further instructed the officials to beautify the old doors and walls of the Nawabi era located from Kamla Park to Neelam Park. During the meeting, the official also focused on and discussed about converting Hathaikheda Dam and Shahpura Lake into an attractive tourist spot. Gaur further instructed to shift the dhobi-ghaat from Lower Lake and also to prohibit the fishing at the Motia Talab.

UAD Minister Babulal Gaur further reviewed the ongoing development works at Bagh Munshi Husain Lake, Siddique Hassan Lake and Shahpura Lake.
