Joseph lauds civic body projects

Development: Minister for Public Works P.J. Joseph unveiling a plaque to inaugurate the reconstruction of the Kannamoola-Puthenpalam bund colony in the city on Thursday.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The City Corporation is doing everything possible to upgrade the standard of living of the people living on the fringes of society, Public Works Minister P.J. Joseph has said.

He was inaugurating the Kannamooola-Puthenpalam housing project here on Thursday. “The fact that this project is being inaugurated after reaching half-way through the construction is proof that the project is being implemented in a time-bound manner,” Mr. Joseph said. He was all praise for the Corporation for adopting an environment-friendly design for the project.

Mayor C. Jayan Babu presided over the function. V. Surendran Pillai, MLA, was the chief guest. Corporation welfare standing committee chairman S.A. Sundar, health and education standing committee chairman G.R. Anil, Corporation council UDF leader Johnson Joseph and Habitat chairman G. Shankar were also present at the function.

Corporation Secretary P.S. Mohammad Sagir presented the project report. Kannamoola ward councillor R. Satheesh Kumar welcomed the gathering and Project Officer Shailendra Prasad proposed a vote of thanks.
