CM has promised pending civic body funds: Rajpal

Pune: During his latest visit to Mumbai, Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal has been promised the pending amount of Rs 150 crore to the Pune Municipal Corporation in the form of grants and Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission funds. Rajpal told the media on Wednesday that the assurance came from Chief Minister Ashok Chavan. NCP leader Anil Bhosale was also present. Rajpal said, “We held talks with Chavan and requested him to look into the matter — of providing the dues that our civic body is still to get from the state government. This amount of Rs 150 crore includes JNNURM funds and other grants. Once this amount comes through, we will be able to carry out a number of projects including those pertaining to drainage, energy and eco-housing.”
