Rs 49 crore released for urban schemes

HYDERABAD: The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department has released an amount of Rs 49 crore as Central and State share for the implementation of different schemes of Urban Infrastructure and Governance in Mission City of Hyderabad under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).

Of the Rs 49 crore, the Central share is about Rs 34.30 lakh and State share is nearly Rs 14.70 crore.

Of the total amount, Rs 35.71 crore has been allocated to Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) for implementation of a sewerage master plan in Rajendra Nagar Circle in Hyderabad Urban Agglomeration. (The GoI share is Rs 25 crore and State share 10.71 crore).

For the Musi revitalisation project in Hyderabad, an amount of Rs 5.53 crore has been allotted. The Central share is about 3.87 crore while the State share is Rs 1.65 crore.

For remodeling of storm water drains and secondary drains in different parts of the Twin Cities, Rs 5.28 crore has been allocated (GoI share is Rs 3.70 crore and State share is Rs 1.58 crore).

For providing flow and level measurement and Supervisory Central and Data Acquisition system (SCADA) for all reservoirs and bulk supply lines in the entire system of Water Board, an amount of Rs 2.47 crore has been allotted. (GoI share is Rs 1.73 crore and State share Rs 74.25 lakh).

The Andhra Pradesh Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APUFIDC) MD should enter into a loan agreement (MoA) with the concerned implementing departments as per the guidelines issued by Government of India and also monitor the implementation of Urban Reform Agenda by the concerned urban local bodies. It is expected that these projects would improve city life.
