NDMC demolishes, seals illegal buildings on K G Marg

NEW DELHI: A number of properties on Kasturba Gandhi Marg were sealed by the New Delhi Municipal Council on Thursday. The demolition squad of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi also demolished eight unauthorised constructions on Thursday that were constructed during the Commonwealth Games in the city.
An NDMC official said: “We have taken action against a number of owners who were misusing their property by carrying out illegal commercial activities. One such property where sealing action was undertaken was situated in the basement parking of K. G. Marg.”
“It was part of a routine sealing exercise which we undertake against properties booked for misuse. This action is undertaken in compliance with the guidelines of the Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee,” he added.
The MCD also intensified its demolition drive in Central Zone. Unauthorised properties in South Delhi, including East of Kailash, Sant Nagar, Sangam Vihar and Kotla Mubarkpur, were also demolished.
