The operation that was supervised by chief engineer of MUDA, Veerabhadraswamy deployed two earth moving machines amid heavy police bandobust, and pulled down a house and two unroofed sheds.

Ayub of Udaygiri had purchased the site brokered by Latheef and Aftab, real estate agents for Rs 1.5 lakh recently. He had built a house spending nearly Rs 7.5 lakh. And, to his shock, MUDA  launched the operation to demolish the illegal structure. He acquiesced and vacated the house facilitating the operation.

Commissioner, MUDA, P C Jayanna told Deccan Herald that the authority had acquired a total of three acres of land to develop a layout in survey number 133 of Devanur lake area.
A part of the same area had been encroached upon, forcing the authority to act before the situation aggravates.
