MCD razes unauthorised structures

In continuation of its ongoing demolition drive against unauthorised constructions, the building department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) central zone demolished 15 unauthorised constructions in the areas of Shyam Nagar, Amar Colony, Kalkaji, Kotla Mubarakpur, South Extension Part-I, Jangpura, Govind Puri, Zakir Nagar, Sangam Vihar, East of Kailash and Sant Nagar on Tuesday.

According to the civic agency, the building department, central zone has taken 48 demolition actions in the past few days itself.

"This major demolition action drive lends a fresh perspective against the unauthorised construction activities as the Building Department, Central Zone, through these stringent demolition actions has sent a message amongst the unscrupulous builders indulging in unauthorised construction activities to respect the enacted laws of the MCD," said a senior MCD official.
