After CM’s appeal, BMC removes illegal postersTwo days after chief minister Prithviraj Chavan appealed to his supporters not to put up banners, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has removed 4,500 banners in the city. The BMC was working under the supervision of additional municipal commissioner Ashish Kumar Singh. “Squads at ward levels were asked to seize illegal banners. They worked even on Saturday,” said an official.
“The BMC sprung into action because the CM appealed to his supporters. No attention is paid to our complaints,” said Pallavi Seth, a resident of Shivaji Park.
