Two illegal structures razed at Vasco

VASCO: Two illegal concrete structures built for the purpose of erecting an arch on Mangor hill at Vasco and situated at the junction of roads leading to Baina and the Naval area were demolished on Monday evening by the attorney of comunidade land in Mormugao.

Incidentally, Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC)chief officer Gopal Parsekar issued directions to the municipal squad to carry out the demolitions. Sources have revealed that the relative of a politician was responsible for the construction of the structures. Speaking to TOI, Menino Henriques, the attorney, who oversaw the demolition said, "There are many structures on the Mangor hill which are illegally built on comunidade land."
