ALLAHABAD: The demolition squad of Allahabad Municipal Corporation removed many illegal kiosks that have cropped up on the Baghambari Gaddi road in Allahpur on Thursday. They also removed encroachments that were made on the drains.

The demolition squad of Allahabad Municipal Corporation comprising bulldozers, JCB machines and trucks reached the site at the Baghambari Gaddi Road at about 11:00 am.

Initially, some shopkeepers tried to offer resistance in the demolition process but seeing police, their resistance fizzled away. Various small kiosks that proliferated on the roadside were removed in the demolition process.In addition to this, the extended portion of some shops that were constructed by encroaching the drains were also demolished.
