Municipal Corporation removes 200 sign boards from sector 7 and 26

CHANDIGARH: Enforcement wing of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation on Tuesday removed 200 signboards and hoardings displayed by shopkeepers, showroom owners in the market area of sector 7 and sector 26, situated on the Madhya Marg, for violating the provisions of the Advertisement Control Order. The action has been taken under section 5 of the Chandigarh Advertisement Control Order 1954.

During the course of drive, team of the enforcement staff removed signboards with the help of electrical boom ladder from the front sides of showrooms.

The defaulters had been asked time and again to remove the hoardings and advertisements failing which, the same have been removed at the cost of owner or occupier and the material and articles used for the said advertisement, sky, signs have been confiscated. Such type of drives will also be carried out for violations under provisions of the Advertisement Control Order in other markets also.

The drive was carried under the supervision of Lalit Siwach, additional municipal commissioner assisted by Kashmira Singh, superintendent of the enforcement wing and other staff.
