Allahabad Municipal Corporation removes encroachments near Baluaghat crossing in Allahabad
ALLAHABAD: The demolition drive of Allahabad Municipal Corporation
was undertaken from ECC College to Baluaghat crossing on Thursday. Many
small shops and the ramps that were constructed encroaching the drains
were also removed in the demolition drive.
The demolition squad of Allahabad Municipal Corporation comprising of JCB machines, bulldozers reached the site at about 11:30am. The demolition started from Ewing Christian College and proceeded upto Baluaghat crossing.
During the demolition, 14 ramps that were constructed encroaching the drains were demolished. In addition to this, eight rooms that were constructed encroaching the land of footpath were also bulldozed in the demolition drive. Eight tin shades were also demolished. The drive continued upto 3:30pm in the locality.
As the demolition squad was returning, the drive was conducted on the Mahatma Gandhi Marg from Bus Stand to All Saints Catehdral. However, only small shops and vendors were chased away from the main road.
