Demolition resumes in Cuttack

After a two-day break, the local administration on Monday resumed the demolition drive against unauthorised temples and religious structures in the city.

The remaining portion of the Bhakti Vedanta Ashram was razed while the squad proceeded to demolish Trishakti temple nearby. The temple had been established in 2001 over an area of one acre. The demolitions on Monday were conducted smoothly without any report of protest or opposition.

More than 200 unauthorised structures of religious nature are to be demolished on the order of High Court.
