LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has issued a warning asking denizens to remove encroachment as soon as possible. The warning comes with a drive launched by the municipal body, which began on Thursday.

Municipal commissioner S K Singh admitted to the fact that the orders are not being followed to the extent they should have been. He asked the denizens to ensure that they remove encroachment from the government land.

Civic bodies in the state have been facing the wrath of the high court, which has been repeatedly asking them to remove encroachment from government land, without getting any results.

Singh said that they would be prosecuting the encroachers and lodge FIR against them.
