Four illegal shops demolished in city

ACTION: Unauthorised strictires being demolished with earthmovers in Mangalore on Friday.
MANGALORE: Revenue officials of the Mangalore City Corporation removed some shops at Kuloor and Marakada here on Friday, which they said were unauthorised structures.
Praveenchandra Karkera, Assistant Revenue Officer, said that two petty shops at Marakada and two others, including a chicken stall at Kuloor, were removed on Friday morning.
The officials demolished eight shops in the basement of a building at Balmatta on Wednesday.
According to them, the basement is meant for parking vehicles.
