Rs 175 crore sanctioned for Gwalior projects

Efforts of Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry have led to the Central Government according sanction to development schemes worth about `175 crore, including Guna Spice Park.

The spice park, which would come up with an estimated expenditure of `40.25 crore, will be funded by the Commerce department of the Central Government. Various spice manufacturing units would be established as part of the scheme.

The Railways has sanctioned `19 crore for construction of a bridge-over-railway crossing in the Bajranggarh area.

Scindia has also set the ball rolling for the modernisation of the Guna stadium, while he provided `2 crore from his MP fund, another Rajya Sabha member has sanctioned `50 lakh for the purpose.

The Municipal Committee would be responsible for the execution of the construction of the project that would be completed at a cost of `11 crore.

A Rs 62 crore-plan has also been sanctioned for the improvement of electric infrastructure in Shivpuri, Guna and Ashok Nagar.

Requisite sanctions have also been awarded for two important roads of Ashok Nagar district, while repair work of the Gwalior-Guna stretch of the Agra Mumbai highway will also be undertaken at a cost of `9 crore.

The efforts of Scindia, who represents the Guna Lok Sabha segment, have also resulted in sanctions for the establishment of two new railway stations — Padarkhera and Tarawata — between Shivpuri and Guna on the Guna railway line.
