NMC eyes 46 plots costing 500 crore

NASHIK: The administration of Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has identified 46 land acquisition proposals, including five plots for the internal ring road, which have to be completed before the Kumbh mela. The acquisitions of these 46 lands or plots are estimated to cost Rs 500 crore.

NCM's standing committee chairman Ramesh Dhongade had directed the civic administration on June 6 to submit the priority list of the land acquisition proposals so that they can be cleared at the earliest. Accordingly, the civic administration has prepared a list of 46 land proposals.

Speaking to TOI, a senior municipal official said, "We have around 225 proposals of land acquisition. We have identified 46 proposals for land acquisition considering the infrastructural development of the city, upcoming Kumbh mela and pollution control, including land acquisition for ring roads, roads towards Godavari river, sewage treatment plant and parking spaces."

The proposal includes plots at five locations on 20.3 km long ring road from Lekhanagar to Lekhangar. This ring road will be complete following the acquisition of plots at the five locations. This ring road starts from Lekhanagar, via Rajsarthi- Vadalagao-Vijay Mamta junction-Takligaon-Sangam bridge-Aurangabad-Amrutdham- Gunjal farm - MERI- Makhmalabad Road - Kranti Nagar- Indraprastha Bridge- Old Gangapur Naka- ABB Circle- City Centre Mall- Manohar Nagar and ends at Lekhanagar. The NMC is planning new connectivity from Trimbak Road to Mumbai-Agra highway, via ABB Circle, City Central mall, Manoharnagar, Govindnagar. The connectivity needs acquisition of land at three-four places.

The civic administration has prioritized work on this road.
