BWSSB explores GRF manholes

BWSSB has started trials using GRF monolithic manholes that can be installed in a day as opposed to concrete ones that require nearly a week to be constructed. These manholes have already been installed near Urvashi Theatre, Jayamahal Road and BHEL on Mysore Road.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Dinesh Gundu Rao recently inspected a GRF manhole, which costs about Rs 40,000, at Sheshadripuram Law College Road.

A special feature of these structure is that the jetting hose is fixed from the manhole outlet to the top so that in case of blockage, one can directly release the hose from the top.
