Hyderabad: In less than a week after the commencement of construction of the Rs 45 crore flyover at Toli Chowki junction, the city has got the green signal for building two more flyovers at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore.
The government has sanctioned the construction of a four-lane Road under Bridge (RuB) at the Uttamnagar railway crossing near Safilguda railway gate. Mean-while, the National Highway (NH) authorities have agreed to a GHMC proposal to construct a flyover at the high traffic density corridor from 6 Number junction to Sri Ramana Talkies at Amberpet, at an estimated cost of around Rs 75 crore.
The GHMC standing committee has agreed to appoint a consultant to prepare a detailed project report for the construction of a flyover at 6 number junction. This is NH-202 which connects the city to Ramanthapur, Uppal, Imbli Bun and Warangal highway.
The NH authorities agreed to construct the flyover on condition that the GHMC spends Rs 30-odd crore from its pocket for the acquisition of properties and hands over the project site to the NH authorities along with a DPR.
The four-lane RuB at Uttamnagar will be a major relief to the lakhs of motorists using this route. GHMC engineer-in-chief R. Dhan Singh confirmed that the projects at Amberpet and Uttamnagar have got approval. “First, a four-lane RuB will be constructed at the Uttamnagar railway crossing, and then a two lane RuB at the Safilguda railway gate,” he said.
In
another development, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has agreed to
release money from MP LAD funds for construction of fly overs at
Bahadurpura junction and Shastripuram in old city. GHMC Commissioner
Somesh Kumar said works on construction of bridge at Kandikal railway
