AMC's estate dept asked to vacate dangerous' building
AHMEDABAD: It's ironical that the estate department of one Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), which has been issuing notices to residents in the old city area to immediately vacate their premises, is itself housed in a "dangerous structurally unstable building".The premises of the head office of the department at a children's hospital in Mithakali was adjudged a dangerous building' recently and the department has been asked to immediately vacate the place. It will now be shifted to the Astodia office in 15 days.
"Two months ago, there were certain building sections that were feared to be very weak structurally. The building is nearly 50 years old. The estate department was issued a notice to immediately vacate the premises," said estate officer Pritam Raut.
