SCR to hand over five buildings to GHMC

HYDERABAD: The railways have agreed to handover its five buildings that are to be demolished as part of the Sangeet-Tarnaka stretch road widening works to the GHMC.

This apart, the SCR has also suggested constructing new passenger terminals at Moula Ali, Medchal, Hitec City and Shamshabad to meet the passenger growth.

In return, the GHMC assured to make the necessary payment of compensation to SCR as per a specified time schedule. Railways also offered to share their expertise in taking up the widening of Rail Nilayam and Allugaddabavi RUBs.

The decision to this effect was made during a meeting conducted by SCR General Manager M.S. Jayanth with senior officers of the Government to accelerate railway projects in the State here on Wednesday.

The SCR asked the State Government to earmark land for passenger and freight terminals in different directions around the twin cities to cater to the increase in traffic.
