State wants faster Urban planningAll local bodies in Maharashtra will get four-and-a-half years to finalise their development plans, instead of the current 10 years. “In a 10-year period, cities can grow in an uncontrolled manner and the purpose of the plan is lost,” said CM Ashok Chavan. Reducing the time period would help develop infrastructure in a better way, he added.
