Palike tough on byelaw violations
Bangalore, November 9, DHNS:
The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has issued a circular to its engineers of Town Planning Department to act tough against violation of building byelaws.
The circular emphasis that the provisions in the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act 1976 should be invoked to act against construction of buildings in violation of the sanctioned plan.
The Mahanagara Palike has asked ward-level engineers to carry out regular inspections and those at Town Planning Division to send the approved plans to sub-divisions within seven days.
The circular comes in light of the Karnataka High Court order issued on the same grounds.
