Notices to illegal buildings

NEW ELHI: As part of its crackdown on illegal constructions in the city, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has issued notices to owners of 638 building in East Delhi for carrying out unauthorised construction.
The civic body has asked the owners of these buildings to conduct a structural safety check and those declared structurally safe should apply to the MCD for regularising them. But buildings found weak and dangerous would be razed by the MCD demolition squad, said officials.
MCD Standing Committee chairman Yogender Chandolia said: “We have sent notices to 638 buildings in Shahdara (South) Zone. ”
