Delhi Govt. orders civic agencies to speed up regularisation drive

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government has directed all concerned departments and agencies to speed up regularisation of unauthorised colonies in the Capital which were issued provisional regularisation certificates.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the Delhi Development Authority, the Forest Department and the Archaeological Survey of India have been asked to effectively coordinate their efforts to take the process to the final stage.

The instructions were issued at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday. Delhi Urban Development Minister A. K. Walia, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary P. K. Tripathi, MCD Commissioner K. S. Mehra and other senior officials from other departments were present. It was decided to seek an extension of 18 months from the L-G for completion of the process assigned to the Urban Development Department as nearly six months were lost due to two elections and incomplete lay-outs submitted by residents’ welfare associations.
